Ryan Edmund is a photographer living in Chicago. His practice is rooted in the intimate connection between himself and the subject in an effort to capture the softer, more nuanced sides of their identity.
Ryan began studying photography as a senior in high school. Most days of the week, he stayed in the darkroom for hours after school, impassioned with the quiet and reclusive practice of developing prints. He later studied advertising and graphic design in Minnesota and eventually moved to Chicago to work as a graphic designer. Unsatisfied with his work, Ryan picked up the camera in 2016 after a long hiatus.
